Artist Bio:

Born and raised in Bogotá,Colombia, Juan Cortés is a self taught producer, and musician based out of Huntington Beach, California.

"PERSEVERANCE" is the remnant of a dream. The name of the original band, formed by Juan Cortés, and Robert Micheal Morales. The two friends' original vision consisted of a collection of short stories, set in a fictional world, accompanied by a collection of songs. Each song would correspond to a story, following its tone, mood, and arch; however, the band and project would never be completed due to Robert's passing in August of 2020. The EP lives on as a memory of a hopeful dream, and as a reminder of a collegue, visionary, and friend. 

"IN THE DEEPENING SPRING" Juan's fifth single released in 2023 demonstrates another side to his sound. Heavily influenced by RNB, KRNB, Jazz, Lo-Fi, and more. This single calls back to Juan's background as a session guitarist during his early twenties, where he focused primarily on Neo-Soul, and Soft Rock. The composition features singer Emma Brounette, and presents an atmosphere of softness, melancholy, and heaviness. 

"LOVE, AND OTHER DEMONS" is Juan's debut album of 2024. After forming the band Love, And Other Demons, the project developed further by the addition of members Omar Kermiche (bass) and Dylan Howard (drums). The band's sound pushes conventional song writing, focusing on feel, groove, and demonstration of masterful musicianship. 

Outside of metal, Juan also cites heavily listening to a plethora of genres, drawing from artists such as Wave Shaper, Square Pusher, Om Unit, Thievery Corporation, Explotons In The Sky, Mac Miller, Rels B, Dot Hacker, Gorillaz, Daft Punk, Toro y Moi, Juice WRLD, Perturbator, Cage The Elephant, Juanes, and many more!
